American Dogwood

The American Dogwood has the distinction of being named both the state tree and flower of Virginia; its lovely leaves, branches, and flowers show why.

The American Dogwood can be found on the forest’s edge in the wild; within populated areas, the dogwood is planted as an ornamental tree due to its interesting bark structure, medium height and showy bracts (not petals) with distinctive notches. These bracts are predominately white in the wild and often pink or even red in residential areas. Celebrate the beauty of spring with this showy card or give it as a gift to your favorite tree-hugging friend.
