Libra the Scales

This sign is unique from all others within the zodiac, as it is the only one that is represented by an object without the inclusion of an animal or mythological character. As such, it was a very straightforward addition to my astrological series, as all I had to do was paint a set of scales. The simplicity of the design, however, presented its own challenges as I wanted to create something that fit in with the eleven other images. I utilized the water pour technique to create random patterns on the metallic areas of the scales, but restricted the red and blue paints to separate areas of the design. The result adds harmony to this balanced sign, much like the Libras who strive to create equilibrium in all areas of their lives.
