Mermaid

A good friend of mine asked me to create a mermaid card for her to use as her personal stationery. This makes perfect sense for her, as she is an avid swimmer and has a home on a pier with a gorgeous view of the harbor. I told her I’d be happy to take on this custom card assignment, but then I started asking lots of questions: Would you like the mermaid to swim vertically or horizontally? What colors would you prefer for the tail and fins? Would you like a front, side, or back view of the swimmer? What does a mermaid’s hair look like when she’s swimming? After much discussion and several edits, we ended up with the design you see here. It was a fun project, and I ended up being very happy with our little mermaid.
