Tulips have been my favorite flower ever since I lived with my family in The Netherlands. My first paying job was working at a tulip bulb farm pulling apart clumps of bulbs that had been freshly pulled from the field; it was dirty work, but we were paid by the bushel and I could make a fair amount of cash in a limited time period. Riding to and from the farm on my bicycle during a light rain simply added to the thoroughly Dutch experience.
