Sagittarius the Centaur

I had saved Sagittarius, the Centaur, for last as I painted my way through the astrological series. I had never painted a horse before, much less a half-horse, half-man and was quite nervous about how to approach this design. The easy way out would have been to just paint a bow and arrow, which I found out (through lots of internet research) is how many tattoo artists address the challenge. I was determined, however, to stay true to the zodiac symbols and keep Libra as the only sign represented by an object without a human or animal component. And so…I took on the centaur.
